Anthony of the Anchorite , Abba Antonius and Father of all monks.

Anthony was born in Herakleopolis , Egypt in 251.

His parents were rich landowners. At age 18 his parents died

and left him with care of his sister.

At age34 he gave away some of family estate to his

neighbors , sold the rest and donaded the money to the poor.

He placed his sister whit a group of christian virgins , and

became disciple of a local hermit.
